About Medi-Redi

What is Medi-Redi

Medi-Redi is a Canadian medication preparedness service designed to help you prepare for common health
concerns that may arise while travelling or when access to medical care is limited.
You complete a health and travel intake and meet virtually with a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Based on your
individual health history and plans, the Nurse Practitioner determines which medications, if any, are appropriate for
you. Approved prescriptions are then dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to you.

Is Medi-Redi a pharmacy?

No. Medi-Redi is a medication preparedness and coordination service.
Your health information is reviewed by a licensed Nurse Practitioner, who makes any prescribing decisions based
on their independent clinical judgment. Prescription medications are dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.

How It Works

How does Medi-Redi work?

1. Complete your intake
Tell us about your health history, current medications, allergies, travel plans, and other relevant information.
2. Meet with a Nurse Practitioner
A licensed Canadian Nurse Practitioner reviews your information and meets with you virtually to discuss your
health needs and preparedness plan.
3. Your medications are personalized
The Nurse Practitioner determines which medications, if any, are clinically appropriate for you.
4. Your prescriptions are filled and delivered
Approved prescriptions are dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and shipped directly to you.

Am I guaranteed to receive every medication shown in a Medi-Redi package?

No. The medications displayed on our website represent medications that may be considered as part of a Medi-
Redi preparedness plan.
What is actually prescribed depends on your individual assessment. Your health history, allergies, current
medications, travel destination, planned activities, and other factors may affect which medications are appropriate for you.

What happens if I am allergic to one of the medications?

Your allergies and previous medication reactions are reviewed as part of your clinical assessment.
Where a medication is not appropriate because of an allergy or another health consideration, your Nurse
Practitioner may recommend an alternative when one is clinically suitable.

Medications and Safety

Are the medications the same as those provided by a regular pharmacy?

Yes. Prescription medications are dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and are the same regulated medications
available through other Canadian pharmacies.
The specific manufacturer, brand, packaging, appearance, or formulation may vary, and a generic equivalent may
be dispensed where appropriate.

How will I know when to use each medication?

You will receive a digital guide book, which can be downloaded for reference offline, with instructions explaining how your medications are intended to be used.
Because several different health conditions can cause similar symptoms, you should use each medication only for
the circumstances discussed with your healthcare professional and according to the directions provided by the prescriber and pharmacy.
Your medication preparedness plan does not replace medical assessment when your symptoms are severe,
unusual, worsening, persistent, or different from the situation for which the medication was prescribed.

Can I share my medications with someone traveling with me?

No. Prescription medications are prescribed specifically for you based on your individual health history and clinical
assessment.
Never share prescription medication with another person, even when they appear to have similar symptoms.

How should I store my medications?

Follow the storage directions on the pharmacy label and the information supplied with each medication.
In general, medications should be kept in their original labelled containers and protected from inappropriate heat,
moisture, and other environmental conditions. Check expiry dates before use.

What happens when my medications expire?

Expired medications should not be used unless a qualified healthcare professional or pharmacist has specifically
advised otherwise.
Before a future trip, review your Medi-Redi medications and their expiry dates. You may need a new assessment or
replacement medications to ensure your preparedness plan remains current.

Travel and Preparedness

Does carrying these medications mean I do not need to seek medical care?

No. Medi-Redi is intended to help you be better prepared, not to replace appropriate medical care.
Some illnesses require an in-person examination, diagnostic testing, intravenous treatment, hospital care, or other services that cannot be replaced by carrying medication.
Do not delay seeking medical attention when symptoms are severe, unusual, worsening, persistent, or outside the
circumstances covered by the instructions provided to you.

What should I do in a medical emergency?

Medi-Redi is not an emergency medical service.
In a medical emergency, call 911 or the local emergency number where you are located, or seek immediate care
from the nearest appropriate medical facility.
When travelling internationally, it is a good idea to know the local emergency number and how to access medical
care at your destination before you leave.

Orders and Delivery

How are my medications delivered?

Once prescriptions have been approved and processed, your medications are dispensed by a licensed pharmacy
and shipped to the delivery address you provide.
Shipping times may vary depending on your location, pharmacy processing time, medication availability, and

thedelivery carrier.

Can Medi-Redi accommodate last-minute travel?

We will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee that assessment, prescribing, pharmacy fulfillment, and
delivery can be completed before a particular departure date. The earlier you begin the process, the better.

Can prescription medications be returned?

Pharmacies generally cannot accept returned prescription medications for resale once they have been dispensed.
If there is a problem or error with your order, contact us promptly so that we can review the situation and help
determine the appropriate next step.

Cost and Coverage

Are Medi-Redi medications covered by private insurance?

Coverage varies by insurer and individual benefit plan.
Some prescription medication costs may be eligible for reimbursement under private drug insurance plans.
Coverage for consultation fees, service fees, travel-related medications, or other components may vary.
We recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm your coverage.

Do I need a family doctor to use Medi-Redi?

No. You do not need a family doctor to use Medi-Redi.
As part of the Medi-Redi process, you will complete a health intake and meet virtually with a licensed Nurse
Practitioner who will assess whether the service and any requested medications are appropriate for you.

Privacy and Support

Is my personal and health information kept private?

Medi-Redi takes the privacy of your personal and health information seriously.
We collect, use, and share information only as needed to provide and support the service, meet legal and
professional requirements, and for the other purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Please review our Privacy Policy for more information about how your information is handled.

What if I have questions about my medications?

Questions about how or when to use a medication should be directed to the prescribing healthcare professional or
dispensing pharmacist.
Your medication labels, instructions, and accompanying educational materials should also be reviewed carefully
before use.
If you are unsure whether your symptoms match the circumstances for which a medication was prescribed, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
